The fundamental idea of the PlockControl Digital Twin is that each individual physical part gets a unique Part ID that is inseparably connected to digitized actual part characteristic data over its entire lifetime.

PlockControl was created and patented by Sven Porepp, as a key innovation from Plock Metalwerke in Germany (www.plock.de).  The idea had its genesis in discussions with customers who desired it.

PlockControl has been used in active production since 2019, beginning 100% in-line measurement of select manufactured components followed by 100% component marking and the creation of digital twins.

With the creation of real-time digital twins, the available data around product and process performance grew exponentially.  Machine learning was used to understand patterns and relational data to develop predictive analytics.  Artificial Intelligence was then applied to the data and analytics to optimize production, minimize waste and lower overall costs.
